| Invitation
You are cordially invited to attend the 8th Conference on Manoeuvring and Control of Marine Craft (MCMC'2009) which will take place in Guarujá (SP), Brazil, from September 16-18, 2009. MCMC'2009 has two main objectives: to bring together key academic and industrial practitioners for discussions and demonstrations of recent advances in navigation, guidance and control of marine crafts and to provide a forum where experienced researchers can engage with each other and with postdoctoral students in order to share experiences, motivate new research agendas, describe scientific and commercial applications, and explore avenues for future research. The MCMC'2009 will provide an excellent opportunity for the presentation and discussion of research and development work in the general area of automatic control with applications to the maritime field. Specific topics will include guidance and control, monitoring and surveillance, optimization and operations planning, modelling and identification, and operational safety of marine crafts. Motivated by recent, fast paced developments in the area, special attention will also be given to the discussion of a number of topics that include navigation, guidance, and control of robotic marine platforms and systems, including autonomous surface and underwater vehicles. This Conference is the eighth of a series of IFAC-sponsored meetings in the field of Manoeuvring and Control of Marine Craft, held on a triennial basis. The last three editions took place in Portugal (MCMC'2006), Spain (MCMC'2003) and Denmark (MCMC'2000). The MCMC'2009 is organized by Polytechnic School of University of São Paulo (EPUSP) in cooperation with Automatic Brazilian Society (SBA-Sociedade Brasileira de Automática), a national member organization of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC). As an expert of the area, we look forward to your contributions and to seeing you in Brazil. Please find a copy of the Call for Papers here. |
